Updated: May 24, 2021

What is eSIM?

eSIM from Vodafone Ukraine is a virtual sim card and a perfect alternative to a physical sim card. Upon arriving in Ukraine, you might be worried about exorbitant roaming fees and out of plan additional fees from your network provider in your country. To avoid this concern, we recommend anyone coming to Ukraine to pick up a pre-paid Ukrainian sim card; these sim cards are incredibly cheap and usually offer you significantly more minutes and data for a fraction of the price you would be spending on roaming fees otherwise.

How eSIM can help during the pandemic

You are not required to have a Ukrainian SIM-card in your smartphone to download the "Act at Home." But you'll have to have a Ukrainian mobile number to give to the Ukrainian Border Control officer and share with the laboratory at your destination airport if you want to make a Covid-19 PCR test to avoid the 14-day self-isolation. (Care to grab all your luggage before heading to the lab) It is essential to activate the app when at your staying address. Within 24-hours, you'll receive a message to the app, saying: "Self-isolation or observation has terminated," and only from then you're exempt from undergoing self-isolation. To provide you with an obstacle-free supported trip to Ukraine, besides the COVID-19 Health Insurance Certificate, we are willing to assist you in having the required Ukrainian SIM or eSIM-card number before arrival.
